gotcha!

"Gotcha journalism" has to be the dumbest of all the Republicans' self-victimizing buzzwords. McCain's camp has spent its post-convention handling Sarah Palin tightly, keeping her out of situations where she could face difficult questions. Now that the media is tired of being denied access to the non-constructed, non-spoon-fed Palin, they're scrutinizing her. As they should be. She isn't fielding trick questions here. If she can't answer a simple question without ducking for cover under the desk of meaningless, generic conservative platitudes, the only "gotcha" moment is the one she creates for herself.
